The Directorate of Graduate Studies, Research and Innovation (DGSRI) successfully conducted a one-day Graduate Research Management System (GRMS) training on 4th February 2026, aimed at strengthening staff capacity in managing graduate studies and research processes through the GRMS platform.
The training brought together staff from various units and focused on enhancing understanding and practical use of the GRMS and the graduate studies website. The session officially opened with welcome remarks from the Director, DGSRI, who emphasized the importance of digital systems in improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in graduate research management.
Participants were introduced to the GRMS system and its website, followed by in-depth sessions on user roles and rights, system metadata, and overall system navigation. Key modules covered included the students–supervisor module, research periods, student research statistics, and the grants management module. These sessions provided participants with both conceptual understanding and practical insights into managing graduate research activities.
A live demonstration of the Grants Management module allowed participants to interact with the system in real time, enhancing hands-on learning and practical application. The training also featured a session on the graduate studies website, highlighting how it integrates with GRMS to support research and academic workflows.
The facilitators, drawn from the GRMS technical and administrative team, guided participants through the sessions and addressed questions during an interactive question-and-answer segment. The training concluded with closing remarks from the Deputy Director, DGSRI, who thanked participants for their active engagement and encouraged continued use of the GRMS to support graduate studies and research excellence.
DGSRI remains committed to building staff capacity and leveraging digital solutions to improve the management of graduate studies, research, and innovation within the institution.
