The MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering degree programme of Busitema University is  constituted as a two-year programme split into two equally important parts as: one year taught coursework covering post graduate level generic Energy and Research courses, followed by another year of Research (and Development) in a specific Energy area The overall aim of thisprogramme is to avail cutting edge energy engineering specialists able to independently design andoptimally manage the manufacture, installation and operation of a range of energy utility systems or their combinations in conditions of what typically obtains in developing countries. There is also a significant lack ofqualified personnel in the country to deliver professional services in the area of energy efficiency in the commercial and industrial sectors. These specialists are also to be a principal source pool for the more research-intensive doctorate programme in specific energy niche areas.
