Master in Educational Psychology
The master’s programme in Educational Psychology is designed to impart practical skills through field placement of the students for industrial attachment in appropriate industries and work environment for the development of appropriate skills and identification of relevant research gaps which will form the basis of their theses. The taught cross cutting courses are aimed at fostering interdisciplinary interactions among students supplemented by seminars, and other activities (retreats and symposia). Required course work is geared toward preparing the student to develop sound scientific knowledge and to facilitate the incorporation of that theoretical knowledge into practice. Hence, required course work includes aspects of theory, applications, statistical and other quantitative and qualitative methods.

- A minimum of second class lower Bachelor of Science with Education or Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts with Education shall be necessary for a candidate to be considered for the program.
- Any other qualifications weighted by the National Council for Higher Education to be of equivalent grade can be considered for the programme. Candidates appearing for final year/semester B.Sc. (Educ), B.A (Educ), or B.Educ exam are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have retakes and have CGPA of more than 3.6. In addition the candidate should have;
An undergraduate degree with a minimum of second class honours degree from a recognised university and other tertiary institutions in Uganda and broad (or a qualification which is regarded as equivalent to such an Honours degree).
- Foreign nationals who do not have English as their native language should provide evidence of proficiency in English (TOEFL or IELTS Score) for admission to this course. The TOEFL or IELTS score reports should not be more than two years since taking the Test to submission of the application. A minimum TOEFL Score of 213 (computer-based), 550 (paper-based), or 79 (internet-based), or a minimum of 6.0 IELTS score is required.
- Also, candidates with Bachelor Degree from Universities outside Uganda should obtain certificates of equivalence from “NCHE”.

The programme targets mid-career and first degree graduates in biological sciences professions. It targets individuals such as education officers, senior education officers, lecturers, teachers, individuals working in NGOs, research institutions among others and those who live in distant places. Graduate teachers from both Arts and Science backgrounds will be targeted. Educational administrators and managers at school, district, and national levels will also benefit from undertaking the programme.
